Looking for a new way to reach your teens at your next Bible study, small group, family gathering, or church event? We have created a fresh twist on the classic Bible Topics card game that turns it into a rendition of Heads Up or Taboo!
How It Works
Instead of drawing a card and answering the prompt yourself, you'll place the card on your forehead where everyone else can read it, but you cannot.
The goal is simple: figure out what the card says by listening to everyone else's answers.
For example, if the card reads:
"Most Attractive Female Bible Character"
The group might start calling out:
- Bathsheba
- Abigail
- Esther
- Delilah
- Rachel
Based on those responses, the player holding the card on their forehead has to determine the exact prompt being discussed.
Once they think they know it, they must state the prompt as closely as possible to what is written on the card.
Basic Rules
Setup
- Shuffle the Bible Topics cards.
- Players sit in a circle.
- One player draws a card and places it on their forehead without looking at it.
Gameplay
- The group reads the prompt on the card.
- Players take turns giving answers that fit the prompt.
- No one may use words from the prompt itself.
- The player with the card listens to the answers and tries to determine the prompt.
- The player may guess at any time.
- If they guess correctly, they earn the card as a point (leave off points for a non-competitive game).
- Play continues clockwise around the group.
Making It More Challenging
For experienced players, try these additional house rules:
One-Word Clues
Players may only give a single answer or name.
Speed Round
Set a 60-second timer. If the player cannot guess before time expires, they do not earn the point (leave off points for a non-competitive game).
Exact Match Rule
The player must guess the prompt exactly as it appears on the card.
No Repeats
Once an answer has been given, no other player may use it.
